Limestone Crushing and Sand-Making Production Line: Configuration and Recommended Equipment

Limestone production lines typically employ a dry crushing process. For limestone intended for metallurgical or road construction applications, the ore simply requires crushing and screening. However, for the production of fine powder products, the ore must first be processed through crushing equipment—such as jaw crushers, impact crushers, or cone crushers—before being fed directly into a Raymond mill for pulverization to achieve a fineness of approximately 100 to 325 mesh. The specific processing workflow is outlined below:

Processing Workflow

Stage 1: Coarse Crushing

- Large blocks of limestone are fed uniformly from a hopper via a vibrating feeder and conveyed to a jaw crusher for coarse crushing.

- Following coarse crushing, the material is screened using a vibrating screen and then transported via a belt conveyor to an impact crusher.

Stage 2: Medium and Fine Crushing

- The coarsely crushed material is fed into the impact crusher for medium and fine crushing. Subsequently, a circular vibrating screen is used to classify the material processed by the impact crusher.

- Larger particles are returned to the impact crusher for re-crushing; if a finer product or specific particle shaping is required, the crushed material is fed into a sand-making machine for further crushing and shaping.

Stage 3: Pulverizing

- The crushed limestone fragments are transported via an elevator to a storage hopper, from which a vibrating feeder delivers a uniform, metered flow of material into the grinding chamber of the mill for pulverization.

Stage 4: Packaging

- The finished product is packaged and stored.
