Recycled aggregate from construction waste is an important renewable resource, which is widely used in road base filling, low-grade building materials and other fields. However, due to the complex composition of construction waste, the quality of recycled aggregate is often unstable. Mastering quality control skills can effectively improve the quality of recycled aggregate and expand its application scope.
### Key Quality Control Links
1. Raw Material Sorting: Before crushing, sort the construction waste to remove impurities such as steel scraps, wood, plastic and glass. Steel scraps can be removed by magnetic separators, and other impurities can be removed manually or by screening. The impurity content of raw materials should be controlled below 3%.
2. Crushing & Shaping: Use impact crushers or cone crushers for crushing and shaping, which can improve the particle shape of recycled aggregate and reduce the needle flake content. The particle size of recycled aggregate should be controlled between 5-31.5mm, and the needle flake content should be ≤8%.
3. Washing & Desliming: Wash the crushed recycled aggregate to remove dust, fine mud and other impurities. The mud content of recycled aggregate should be controlled below 3%, which can improve the strength and durability of recycled aggregate.
4. Quality Detection: Regularly detect the quality indicators of recycled aggregate, including particle size distribution, mud content, needle flake content, compressive strength and other indicators. For unqualified recycled aggregate, it should be reprocessed or discarded.

### Application Case
A construction waste recycling project in Vietnam adopts the above quality control skills: strictly sort the raw materials, use impact crushers for shaping, and wash the recycled aggregate. After quality control, the mud content of recycled aggregate is ≤2%, the needle flake content is ≤6%, and the compressive strength is ≥25MPa, which can be used for local rural road base and low-rise building foundation filling.
