Iron ore tailings contain stable silicon and aluminum components, which can be mixed with cement, lime and fly ash to make high-strength building bricks. After pressing and natural curing, the finished bricks have uniform density, strong compression resistance and low water absorption.
The production flow includes tailings dewatering, raw material mixing, hydraulic pressing and stacking curing. No high-temperature sintering is required, greatly saving energy consumption and production cost.

A magnetite dressing plant in Tanzania built a tailings brick production line. The plant consumes 220,000 tons of iron tailings annually, producing qualified construction bricks for local rural housing projects. The tailings zero-discharge standard is achieved.
