Recently, the Sand and Gravel Aggregate Network organization received information from the Xinglong County Environmental Protection Bureau of Chengde City, Hebei Province, that Zhuhe Mining Company is currently conducting public consultations on the environmental impact assessment (EIA) for two major projects: a deep processing and comprehensive utilization project for construction granite powder (Phase I) with a total investment of 300 million yuan, and a comprehensive processing and utilization project for tailings (Phase I) with a total investment of 350 million yuan.

Deep Processing and Comprehensive Utilization Project for Construction Granite Powder

This project is planned to be implemented in three phases, with a target annual production capacity of 30 million tons of construction granite powder. The first phase of the project, with an investment of 300 million yuan, involves the expansion and upgrading of the existing plant to achieve an annual production capacity of 10 million tons.

Environmental Protection Measures

Air pollution control: reinforced factory roads, tarpaulins for vehicles, regular water spraying to reduce dust, enclosed sorting and crushing workshops, installation of dust collection hoods.

Comprehensive utilization of water resources: reuse of concentrated and filtered wastewater; Wastewater from vehicle washing is reused after sedimentation.

Noise control: selection of low-noise equipment, installation of vibration-damping pads on equipment foundations, and installation of soundproof doors and windows in production workshops. Solid waste recycling: dust from the dust collector and dust accumulated in the workshop are used for brick production; used packaging and filter cloth are recycled; secondary cast iron is sold; hazardous waste is disposed of by specialized units.

Integrated tailings processing project: The project involves upgrading the existing workshop to build a production line capable of processing 1.1 million tons of tailings per year. Resources such as lepidolite and niobium-tantalum are extracted from the tailings, and a wet process is used to reduce the formation of particulate matter. The total investment is 350 million yuan. Construction includes a finished product warehouse, a ball mill workshop, a screening workshop, and a flotation workshop.

Environmental protection measures: Air pollution control: Roads at the plant are asphalted, vehicles are covered during transportation, a wet process is used, and finished products are stored in enclosed hangars.

Integrated water resource utilization: concentrated and filtered wastewater is reused; wastewater from vehicle washing is reused after sedimentation.

Noise control: low-noise equipment is selected; vibration-damping pads are installed in the equipment foundation; soundproof doors and windows are installed in the workshop.

Solid waste processing: tailings are used for brick production, packaging materials and filter cloth are recycled, scrap iron is sold, and hazardous waste is disposed of by professional organizations.
