Technological process of lead-zinc ore processing

Lead-zinc ore processing mainly includes three stages: crushing, grinding, and beneficiation.

Crushing process

Three-stage crushing in a closed circuit is currently the most suitable method for crushing high-hardness lead-zinc ore. It effectively crushes and partially liberates the ore, thereby increasing the efficiency of subsequent grinding.


Large pieces of lead-zinc ore are first uniformly fed into a jaw crusher or mobile primary crushing plant via a vibrating feeder for preliminary crushing.


The coarsely crushed lead-zinc ore is screened on a vibrating screen and then transported by a belt conveyor to a single-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher for secondary crushing.


The secondarily crushed lead-zinc ore is then fed into a multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher for fine crushing.


Grinding Process

Two-stage grinding in a closed circuit ensures more thorough grinding of the lead-zinc ore.


Lead-zinc ore of 0–12 mm fraction, after screening, is evenly fed into a mill for grinding, and then sieved in a spiral classifier. Material that does not meet the requirements is returned to the mill for further grinding.


Mineral Processing Technology

In recent years, mixed flotation has become one of the most successful new processes for lead-zinc ore beneficiation.

The ore powder that meets the beneficiation requirements is first fed into a magnetic separator for strong magnetic separation to remove impurities.


Then the resulting ore powder is sent to a dryer for drying to obtain a concentrate.
