Impact crushers are widely used in aggregate shaping due to their good shaping effect, which directly affects the particle shape and quality of finished aggregate. However, in actual operation, the shaping effect is often affected by factors such as equipment parameters, material characteristics and operation methods. Mastering relevant optimization skills can effectively improve the shaping effect.
### Key Optimization Tips
1. Adjust Impact Plate Gap: The gap between the impact plate and the impeller is the key factor affecting the shaping effect. For materials with high hardness (such as basalt), the gap should be adjusted to 8-12mm, which can enhance the impact force and improve the particle shape; for soft materials (such as limestone), the gap can be adjusted to 12-15mm, avoiding excessive crushing and reducing energy consumption.
2. Optimize Impeller Speed: The impeller speed directly affects the throwing speed of materials. Increasing the impeller speed can enhance the impact force between materials and the impact plate, making the particle shape more cubic. For aggregate shaping, the impeller speed is generally controlled at 1200-1500r/min, which can balance shaping effect and energy consumption.
3. Control Feeding Uniformity: Uneven feeding will lead to uneven impact force, resulting in poor particle shape and uneven particle size. Use a vibrating feeder to ensure uniform feeding, and control the feeding amount to 70-80% of the equipment's rated capacity, avoiding overload operation.
4. Replace Worn Parts Timely: The impeller and impact plate are key wearing parts. When the wear amount exceeds 10mm, the shaping effect will be significantly reduced. Replace worn parts in time, and choose high-wear-resistant materials (such as high-chromium alloy) to extend the service life and ensure stable shaping effect.

### Application Practice
A 200TPH aggregate production line in Oman optimized the shaping effect of the impact crusher according to the above tips: adjusted the impact plate gap to 10mm, optimized the impeller speed to 1350r/min, and ensured uniform feeding. After optimization, the cubic rate of finished aggregate increased from 75% to 90%, and the needle flake content decreased from 8% to 3%, meeting the high-grade aggregate standard.
